Word on the WAY
March 10 – March 17, 2014
All passages are from The New Living Translation
Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks. For we know it is made acceptable by the word of God and prayer.
You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.â€
Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
Make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
The generous prosper and are satisfied. Those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
